Devils Lake - Oct 2-5

Updated: Dec 10, 2019

The weather sure feels like fall - or early winter - and the fishing is starting to catch up to that. All the bites the last few days have been on minnows or crankbaits (or other "minnow-style" items like jigging raps), and the bigger fish have started to show themselves occasionally. The water temps are in the low 50's most places, some in the high 40's. You can still catch large numbers of smaller 'eyes (we caught right around 100 our second day out) and also good photo-op fish, so it's really the best of both worlds right now! As long as the weather allows, every day here on out should be pretty darn good!

Thanks to Mark and Dave here for catching all these fish, making me look good, and being one of the most entertaining and enlightening bunch of dudes I've ever had along in the boat. Definitely hope to see them again next year!
